CREATIVE PROFESSIONALS

The journey of working in creative fields can be thrilling and fulfilling but also marked by uncertainty, self-doubt and high demands. You may be running into things that are outside of your control like difficult bosses, unbearable pressure, a lack of opportunity or sexism in the workplace. Other times, it may actually be that you're getting in your own way.

We understand creative environments which allows us to jump right in to your unique experience with curiosity and compassion. We'll support you in developing tools to negotiate and navigate workplace challenges. We'll also attend to internal barriers towards softening your inner critic, finding your voice and gaining deeper fulfillment at work.

LGBTQ

LGBTQ folks have struggles just like everybody else and we understand how systemic homophobia and transphobia exacerbate those difficulties. You don’t want to have to worry about whether or not your therapist is accepting. Whether you’re talking about coming out, transitioning, dealing with difficult family dynamics, or starting a family of your own, we would be honored to support you through it.

The queer experience is not the straight experience, and we celebrate that. We'll provide a nonjudgmental space that listens to and affirms your unique experience, allowing for questioning and fluidity. We'll cultivate your sense of being seen, felt and understood. In this process, you'll develop greater self-acceptance and belonging from which you can live and love more fully.

LIFE TRANSITIONS

Change, big or small, can feel really disruptive. Losing a loved one, dealing with health issues or setbacks at work can cause feelings of grief. Even welcome experiences - getting married, becoming a parent or taking on a new role - can also stir up distress. Often times, the only way through it is through it. But you don't have to do this alone.

In our work, we will help you make space for a range of feelings that accompany any life transition. We will explore the impact of change on roles or identities, and help you tolerate the anguish of uncertainty. Together we can find ways to honor what was, while also building hopefulness about what's next.

RELATIONSHIP ISSUES

Whether it's romantic, professional or platonic, relationship difficulties can feel defeating and all-consuming. Why am I always attracted to the wrong person? This feels like the same dead-end argument - how can we break the cycle? How can I find meaningful friendships in this city?

Together we'll explore your patterns in relationships which are often informed by previous life experiences. We'll use the therapeutic relationship to notice your attachment style and to begin to develop new ways of connecting. Therapy is a chance to cultivate a safe and trusting relationship in which you can practice vulnerability, begin to clarify and express your needs, and learn how to set healthy boundaries.

ADOLESCENTS

Young adulthood is ripe with transitions and overwhelming emotions. Peer and familial relationships are constantly tested. Identity and self-concept are in perpetual flux. Academic stress is at an all-time high. All of this is only complicated by social media.

Therapy is a rare opportunity to slow down and make space. We are here to listen without judgment and help you feel seen and understood. In a supportive environment, you can begin to express and process feelings, and develop healthier responses to stress. We will work with family members as needed to share insights about this developmental stage and to provide parenting strategies.

ANXIETY & DEPRESSION

Many people experiences anxiety and depression at some point in their lives. In each of us it looks a little different. Racing thoughts may get in the way of sleep or work. You may be feeling foggy or 'blah' about everything. It might be hard for you to keep perspective.

We'll keep you company as you move through difficult feelings, fears and sadness. We'll teach you ways to cope with what is happening now while unpacking beliefs about yourself or the world that may be contributing to your distress. We'll help you mobilize resources and seek supportive outlets so that you don't have to go through this alone.
